Strong as it may be your desire, weak as you might find yourself towards it; it’s not what you need. Why do the things that bring us more pain than pleasure come disguised as the most satisfying, the most beautiful. If that was true, we would have all been happy and fulfilled, but it is not. I’m not saying that you should not experience them; actually you should. Because when you really experience the things that are so tempting, the things that bring you temporary pleasure, you will realize they are not the answer to your happiness. It is only by experiencing and by going through that disguised pleasure that you come to a clear understanding that it is not but a temporary medicine to ease your pain, or just to make you forget about it. But that doesn’t make it go away, on the contrary, it deepens it. So go ahead and experience them, whatever they are that you think you want, feel the instance relief they give you, but shortly you will know, you will feel the inside of you floating on the surface again no matter how hard you push it down. And after that, take a minute to think of what really matters, what really brings you happiness, true happiness, and then do it for the rest of your life.
