Be-you-tiful
By Perla Semaan
One of the most common mistakes people always make, is to care what everybody else thinks. We always try to please others so we can fit in, no matter what is the price we are paying. We change ourselves, we replace our skin with another, and we modify each and every part of us in a way that makes us accepted by others. But what are we doing really? Who cares what other people think? Why change ourselves and for who? Are the people we are taking into consideration worth our time and our thoughts? The truth is, no! They are not. Because if they were, they wouldn’t mind the person that we really are, they wouldn’t judge nor condemn. They would have loved us just the way we are. They wouldn’t show us where to go, but they would definitely be there when the road we are taking gets tough. They wouldn’t take our insecurities for granted, they would help us and comfort us when it gets dark. Pleasing others is definitely the hugest mistake of all! When everyone is wearing a mask to fit in a group or a society, I’d rather stand alone with nothing on my face but plan truth. I’d rather be rejected for who I am than loved for who I am not.
