Family
by Perla Semaan
From the day you open your eyes to the world, you start encountering different kinds of people. Some you meet and you live with, those are called your family. Others you meet and come across occasionally, those are called relatives. And then, there’s the people you encounter along the way, who are not related to you by blood, those are called friends.
In principle, family is known to be one’s priority and the closest to one’s heart. But closeness and intimacy have nothing to do with blood. The soul does not know no blood, no body, and no material. The resemblance is not which of D.N.A., parents, or features; the resemblance is which of soul.
That’s why you spend your life searching for soul-mates; and you rarely find one in your family. And that’s why people in your priorities should be there based on their friendship, love, and closeness to you. So choose your people wisely. Choose the ones that can’t hurt you, wish the best for you, and love you unconditionally for who you are and not for who they want you to be. Get close to those who matter and stay away from those who don’t. Create your own family.
