Happy no-ending
By Perla Semaan
Endings were never my thing in life. I never liked them and it’s fair enough to say that they never liked me neither. But what I was fond of, was the journey. Pain, happiness, dreams, experiences, weariness, excitement… anything but the end. Whenever a book I’m reading ends or a movie hits his final seconds, it becomes just another fairytale on the shelves of fairytales. Love stories never caught my attention, especially the ones in books and movies. They make people dream and spend their whole lives searching for that true love that they never seem to find. Books are eventually a couple of hundred pages long and movies last no more than two dreamy hours. But what about the journey? What about real life? What about the beautiful things that we are missing out on? Love does not happen at first sight like they keep on telling us, that’s Disneyland love, not real life love. But people by nature look forward to accomplish things, to get the job, to buy the car, and to get married… They look forward to bring things to an end that they never seem to really live them. It’s not about what you make nor do my friend, and it’s not about what you have already accomplished. It’s about how it makes you feel putting your whole energy in it. So always make sure what you are doing is worth of your time and is making you happy and fulfilled. Don’t get carried away by appearances, judgments, and opinions of others. Drop the dream and start living right. Start loving yourself in order to be loved. Actually, you will never know what love is unless you love yourself first. Start being true to yourself and then to others. Go inside yourself and get busy. Get busy discovering who you really are, not who you were trying to be. Get busy setting your own beliefs instead of just believing what others have been telling you all these years. Get busy loving every tiny piece of your soul, because your soul is your home. Your soul is the place where everything starts but never ends, the place where the truth dwells, and the place where God is forever waiting for you.
